🎭A proof to the rising level, is that for a second time in a row we have Emmy winning actors among the Film Olympiad medal winners – such as Christina Pickles who won the Best Supporting Actress Gold Medal. She is, of course, widely known for her beloved work as Judy Geller in the sitcom, Friends – and with roles in films such as Romeo + Juliet (1996), Legends of the Fall (1994) and more.
🥇🇬🇪🥉The Best Film Gold medal went to “Vasomotor Rhinitis” from Georgia by Mikheil Gabaidze, a comedy with dark, political and existential semitones, based on Anton Chehov’s “Death of a Civil Servant”.
The film will receive the 11th Film Olympiad Grand Prix money prize. It was also favoured at the People’s Choice vote, receiving the respective Bronze medal. Overall, it received 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medal !
🥉🇮🇷🥇”The Steak” from Iran by Kiarash Dadgar, received the People’s Choice Gold Medal and the Best Film Bronze, in the probably best anti-war film that we have seen to date in the Film Olympiad. Overall, it received 3 Gold, 2 Silver & 3 Bronze medals!
🥈🇰🇼”J’ ai Le Cafard” from Kuwait by Maysaa Almumin, impressed with the combination of imaginative creativity and addressing a crucial subject of our days received the Film Olympiad and received – in a close contest – the Best Film Silver Medal. Overall, it received 5 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medals- and became the most successful ever Arab film in the Film Olympiad.
🥈🇬🇷”The Pianist” from Greece by Thodoris Sarafis, a poetic and profound animation film, charmed the audience, making the big surprise of the event by winning the People’s Choice Silver Medal.

“Baby Talk” (USA🇺🇸) by Grace Halpern & Ryan Benson, that reached the semifinals of the Grand Prix and received 4 Gold and 1 Bronze medal, including the Gold.
“Laundromat 24/7” (Lithuania🇱🇹) by Skaistė Bartkutė, receiving 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
“In Half” (Spain🇪🇸) by Jorge Morais, receiving 2 Gold & 1 Silver medal.
“The Silent Route” (UK🇬🇧) by Merve Cirisoglou, receiving 1 Gold & 3 Silver medals.
“Dreams Like Paper Boats” (Haiti🇭🇹) by Samuel Suffren, who received the Best Director Gold, and two more Silver medals.
🌍🎞️There were 35 films from almost 30 countries that have received at least one nomination and many more were considered for several categories, giving our Jury a hard time to make the final selection! We thank everyone for the participation and looking forward for the upcoming 12th Film Olympiad Grand Prix.
