This Film Olympiad once again brought together extraordinary creators, including Academy Award winner Stephen Warbeck, Academy Award nominees Sir Ian McKellen & Rose Byrne, Palme d'Or winner Léa Seydoux, Oscar-shortlisted filmmakers George C. Siougas & Bogdan Mureșanu, Grammy winners J. Cole & DZL, Student Academy Award winner Robin Wang, and dozens more internationally acclaimed directors, actors and filmmaking professionals.

This month marked the 5-year anniversary of the Film Olympiad — a historic milestone for our festival and an opportunity to reflect on an extraordinary journey. 🎞️✨

In just a few years, and with absolutely no public funding, the Film Olympiad has grown beyond all expectations. What began as an ambitious vision has evolved into a truly international platform for cinema, bringing together thousands of films from nearly 120 countries 🌎 and welcoming filmmakers from every corner of the globe.

👏 The festival once again welcomed a full-house audience, enriched by parallel events including the Film Olympiad Art Exhibition, Book Exhibition and Film Olympiad Fun Zone. None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteer team, which doubled in size in just three months. ❤️

🏆 16th Film Olympiad Grand Prix – Top Winners

🇬🇧 "The One Note Man" by George C. Siougas
🥇 6 Gold Medals • 🥈 2 Silver • 🥉 1 Bronze

In a triumphant performance, The One Note Man became only the 6th film in Film Olympiad history to achieve the prestigious Golden Double, winning both 🥇 Best Film and 🥇 People's Choice.

It also received:
🏅 Best Original Music – Stephen Warbeck, legendary composer of Billy Elliot, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Charlotte Gray and Academy Award winner for Shakespeare in Love.
🏅 Best Leading Actor – Jason Watkins

🇳🇪 "The Envoy of God" by Amina A. Mamani
🥇 2 Gold Medals • 🥈 3 Silver • 🥉 1 Bronze

One of the most emotional screenings in recent Film Olympiad history, The Envoy of God deeply moved audiences while becoming the first-ever film from Niger and the second African film to reach a Film Olympiad Grand Prix Final.

Its awards included:
🥇 Best Screenplay & Best Human Rights Film
🥈 Best Film & People's Choice

🇫🇷 "The Spectacle" by Bálint Kenyeres
🥇 3 Gold Medals • 🥈 1 Silver • 🥉 1 Bronze

🇺🇸 "Neither Donkey nor Horse" by Robin Wang
🥇 5 Gold Medals • 🥈 3 Silver • 🥉 1 Bronze

The film dominated the technical categories, also winning:
🏅 Best Student Film
🏅 Promising Director

🇷🇴 "The Magician" by Bogdan Mureșanu
🥇 2 Gold Medals • 🥉 1 Bronze

With these victories, Bogdan Mureșanu became the first director in Film Olympiad history to win Best Film Goldand Best Animation Gold with two different films.

🇱🇮 "Cleaning Sappho" by Martina Morger and 🇬🇵 "Atopias" by Daniela Yohannes & Julien Béramis also won multiple medals, achieving historic firsts for Liechtenstein and Guadeloupe.
