Film Olympiad Superfinal

The best films of each Grand Prix are qualified to the biennial Film Olympiad Superfinal, which takes place when a set of 6 Grand Prix competitions are completed.

The automatically qualified films are:

  • The 8 Quarterfinalists from each Grand Prix.

  • All the People's choice Winners/nominees.

  • Any films with a major number of nominations/medals that are not included on the above.

These films are announced after each Grand Prix (up to 12 films). When the preselection of the first 70 films is determined, another 50 - 80 films are announced to finalize the list of 120- 150 participants in the Superfinal.
This is once again based on the Knock-out stage success, medals & nominations received, and international diversity/representation.
