Film Olympiad returns!
The lucky 13th, Film Olympiad Grand Prix, will take place from 30th May to 8th June.
95 films, from 27 countries, with a constantly rising quality of the Film Olympiad competitions.
Among this Grand Prix’s many worthy participants are the film “Dovecote” (Italy – dir. Marco Perego) and starring this year’s Supporting Actress Oscar winner Zoe Saldana. Zoe Saldana is already among cinema’s legends, being the highest grossing actress of all time!!
Dovecote was also Oscar shortlisted, the same way as “Paris 70” (Spain – dir. Dani Feixas Roca).
The list of notable nominees, with amazing artists internationally or at least in their own countries is actually endless in this competition.
We feel compelled however, to also acknowledge the first ever participation of a Honduras film with “Perséfone”(dir. Jurek Jablonicky) starring Liseth Bitar, Diego Calva & Itzan Escamilla.
Among the Greek participating films, there is once again a great competition, with “Blue Sunday” (dir. Gogo Marangouli) starring Elli Tringou, receiving the most nominations.
One more honorable mention, goes to “Moscow Mule” (USA – dir. Jensen Abhau), in which Bryan Crunston, an all time fan favourite, is also featured.
Of course, Film Olympiad is a festival & competition full of surprises, and we thank all participants for their creative pathos as we look forward once more for a thrilling contest.
